Wimmer Porsche GT2 with 680hp

Wimmer has made the impressive Porsche GT2 even more impressive. Wimmer Rennsporttechnik Solingen has added high-quality materials and top-level engineering that goes into today’s cars to boost up the potential left inside engines. The result is Wimmer finding another 150hp (111kW) inside the already brutal car to reach 680hp (507kW) from the original 530hp.

Wimmer’s work starts with a twin-turbo version of Porsche’s 3.6L boxer engine. The tuner adds advanced engine management, a custom-built sport exhaust with high-flow cats, a redeveloped cylinder head and ‘sport’ camshafts. To delivers 680hp (507kW) to the rear wheels Wimmer has upgraded clutch. Armed with upgraded specs, the Wimmer Porsche GT2 hit 0-100km/h down to 3.4 seconds. It needs 9.78 seconds to reach 200km/h, 186mph (300km/h) in just 25.8 seconds and reach top speed at 221mph (356km/h).

Wimmer chose the higher performance Dunlop Sport-Maxx GT tires 235/30 (front) and 325/20 (rear) combined with 20in alloy wheels. The other features include carbon fiber exterior mirrors and rear spoiler lip, though the entire exterior of the car can be made of carbon upon request. H&R suspension upgrades help handle the extra power.

Wimmer Porsche GT2 with 680hp at €29,800 ($40,400) is 20% more expensive than the car’s original in the States. It’s not bad for 20% more power than the original, perhaps.
