Rocketsports Jaguar XKR race car for the ALMS GT2
Jaguar XKR race car by Rocketsports Racing (RSR) for the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) GT2 category, its first images has been released by the Michigan-based team. Rocketsports Racing (RSR) will be at the ALMS as brand new team and look which it is an effect of the new global GT class based on current GT2 regulations.
Rocketsports Racing (RSR) is on the engine development process for the new AJ-133 direct injected 5.0L at its RSR facility. Combining stampings, forgings, and extrusions, all fastened by special rivets and high strength adhesives; RSR race car is just built on the same aluminum chassis as the production XKR. It will be tested in June shortly before entering the race. This season Rocketsports Racing (RSR) will take place for partial competition with at least three cars and full of the competition in the next 2010′s season which at the same time RSR will also offer its cars for customers.
RSR’s ALMS race car is not the first the company to modify the Jaguar. At late last year, RSR has modified Jaguar XF-R. The car came with a top speed of 225mph (363km/h) during a secret high-speed trial at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
