Land Rover LRX hybrid will be produced in 2012. The stunning hybrid SUV concept was first unveiled at the last year’s Detroit Auto Show and built based on the Land Rover Feelander chassis, but smaller. The confirmation for production is gotten after the British automaker receiving a £27 million loan from the UK government for the development of an all-new model, the hybrid version of the LRX. According to the Land Rover, the hybrid car will use the Range Rover badge when it hits the dealership.

The new was designed to have new technologies. Powered by a 2.0 litre turbo-diesel hybrid powertrain and combined with a lightweight design, the Range Rover LRX will achieve 4.7 l/100km on bio-diesel. It can run in three modes: electric, petrol, and a petrol-electric hybrid mode. The 4WD SUV  features Hill Descent Control and Land Rover’s Terrain Response.

For this time, the Land Rover is in the process to add the stop-start and brake-energy regeneration technology to its 2010 lineup before the Land Rover LRX hybrid launching in 2012.

Inside, the LRX is more spacious. As luxury SUV it is equipped with high quality soft leathers and art work details.
