BMW released new teasers of X1 SUV
BMW has released the new teaser images of its new compact SUV, the X1 that will be competing with the other compact SUV such as Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Production is expected to start by the middle of the year. Speculation says that the price for the X1 will be around $30,000 mark that means more than BMW’s 1 Series’.
There are just few information from these official teaser images. BMW still hides the overall design that will be clear at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show when BMW unveiling its newcompact SUV. The clue is BMW shows its completely undisguised grille, and the sporty new front and rear bumpers of its new SUV. The BMW’s new X1 SUV also features the front light borrowed from 5-series GT and rear lights from the 7-series sedan.
BMW X1 SUV’s running gear is based on the 1-series compact car but its ride height will be taller. It features BMW’s X-drive AWD system (speculation:the base version will come with RWD system) and using mixture of 1-series and 3-series parts.
BMW X1 SUV will be available in the xDrive18i and the xDrive18d at the launching. Following the launching versions, BMW will add the 177hp (130kW) xDrive20d version and the xDrive23d with 204hp (150kW), 400Nm of torque, 0 - 60mph in 7.3 seconds, and top speed of 223km/h.
