2010 Volkswagen Golf R Series for US


It is rumored that Volkswagen meant to limit the performance of the new Mark VI. That why it can introduce a high-performance ‘R’ version of the car to replace the outgoing R32. And the replacement to R32 is Golf R. The hot-hatch is expected to deliver 270hp (201kW) and be fitted with a six-speed manual and AWD. Expected to have a dual-clutch DSG as an option, the Volkswagen Golf R can hit 0-62mph (100km/h) in five seconds with top speed higher than that of the GTI.

Volkswagen Golf R Series for US will be released in early 2010 after going on sale in Europe in the end of the year. While this Volkswagen Golf R will make world debut at this year’s DAC 24-hour race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Incidentally, VW will reportedly unveil a R-series Scirocco coupe at the same event.
