Lotus Elise Special Edition

Lotus’s Elise has won kudos from performance-oriented drivers for its outstanding handling, which many describe as go-kart-like. It’s exceptionally light and low-slung, and the mid-engine placement of its 1.8-liter Toyota four-cylinder helps it track exceptionally well and quickly through pretty much any turn, with its steering having earned favorable comparisons to that of any Porsche. While the non-supercharged version’s engine produces “only” 189 hp, Lotus claims the 2009 version will get from 0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 150 mph. Lotus says the supercharged 218-hp 2009 Elise SC will cut that 0 to 60 time to 4.4 seconds and can get from a standstill to 100 mph in 10.7 seconds.

Lotus made very few updates to the Elise for 2009. Changes include the addition of a tire pressure monitor, a new instrument panel with a customizable LCD readout, and a new ignition system that includes central locking and an alarm/immobilizer. Options include leather, a suspension-stiffening “sport pack,” a body-colored hard top, a limited-slip differential, and traction control. Pricing starts at $46,270 MSRP for the non-supercharged Elise and $54,500 for the Elise SC.

2010 Chevrolet Spark

Chevy’s version of the mini-car concept is coming to life a five door Chevrolet Spark, a new small car from General Motors.
The production version of the Chevrolet Spark is 143.3 inches long and has a 93.5-inch wheelbase (compared to the Mini which has 97.1 inch wheelbase). When the Spark goes on sale in Europe, it will come with a 1.0 liter or 1.2 liter 16-valve four cylinder DOHC gasoline engine.

The Spark features Chevy’s two tier grille setup and wheel arches that can handle up to a 15 inch wheel. The Spark’s integrated rear door handles are into the upper part of the door in an effort to preserve the vehicle’s rear-flank lines. Out back, there’s an integrated tailgate spoiler and a new take on Chevrolet’s trademark round taillight setup.

Despite its compact size, General Motors insists the Spark will have a spacious cabin with interior noise levels on par with larger vehicles. The cabin is highlighted by the Spark’s motorcycle-themed, steering wheel mounted instrument cluster and dual cockpit layout.

But many sources believe that the Italian supercar is powered by a 550 horsepower version of the Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V10 engine. This conclusion considers Gallardo name, the LP550-2. The car is also equipped with the rear wheel drive system rather than the all wheels drive system that used on the rest of the Gallardo range.

If the Italian supercar comes with the rear wheel drive system, it will bring benefit of weight saving as opposed the all wheels drive system. All will be clear if the Italian supecar maker has released the official deatails. Meanwhile, the photos below are really good.
